memorial day baseball

Our team hosted a big baseball tournament over Memorial Day weekend with some great competition.  It was fun for a change to have the championship game on Monday because of the long weekend.  We played the Germantown Giants (a top-ranked team from Tennessee) in the final game.  Our team wore camo jerseys for the holiday.  It was probably one of the most exciting games I have watched in a while.   The game was a close one and we were only ahead by one run in the bottom of the 6th inning.  With runners on base, they hit a monster shot out to left field and we all thought the game was over............until Daunte made the catch of his life to end the game.  It was fun to see the boys so excited for the win, especially after playing their 6th game of the weekend.  They all rushed to the outfield and dogpiled Daunte, then made sure that all the extra water from the coolers ended up on his head.  It was some good

stuff.

Days like this make me happy to be a baseball mom.
